CHeckout Procedures
- Primary students may check out one book at a time.
- Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary students may check out two books at a time.
- Additionally all students can check out two eBooks at a time.
- Parents may check out up to two books per child at a time.
Open Checkout times are daily from 8:45 am until 12:10 pm.
In addition to the scheduled class checkout time, students may visit the Library Media Center on between 8:45 am and 12:30 pm for OPEN CHECKOUT to choose new books with permission from the classroom teacher. Students must wear a name tag with their first and last name while in the Library Media Center and may come as often as once a day. Students will use shelf markers when looking for a book in order to keep the books in their correct places on the shelves.
No late fees or fines are collected. Books that have been checked out for over 45 days are automatically listed as LOST by the library circulation software. A student with a book listed as LOST is responsible for returning the book or paying for the replacement cost.
Books that are accidentally damaged should be brought directly to the Library Media Center staff so that damage can be assessed and/or repaired with the library's book repair materials. If the book cannot be repaired, a decision about payment for the replacement cost or other options will be determined.
